15 Minutes of Fame for the Strawberry Lamp

15 Minutes of Fame for the Strawberry Lamp

Posted by Della Wheeler on

We just about dropped dead when Katherine Thewlis revealed her One Room Challenge in May. Gender neutral, modern, colorful... this nursery checks all the boxes. It's safe to say we are in cute overload right now!

Katherine says, "When I first laid eyes on this strawberry lamp from Stray Dog designs, I knew I had to have it. We don’t know if we are having a boy OR a girl but we all eat fruit so this feels like neutral territory to me, don’t you think? Actually, even if I knew the sex, our nursery would likely look something like this. I waited until our daughter was older to finally embrace the pink."

We think the Strawberry Lamp was due for its 15 minutes of fame. Inspired by arguably the best fruit of summer, it's plump, sweet, and full of flavor.

The little strawberry is made with a weighted paper mache base, hand painted, and topped with a paper shade and brass finial. It's just so SWEET!

Even sweeter? She says, "All of the amazing Straydog designs are handmade by artisans in Mexico who are paid a living wage, all while working from home with their families, at their own flexible schedule. This means the lead-time for their products takes a little longer (about 8-10 weeks), but it is so worth it!"

We couldn't agree more.

We wanted to make sure you could enjoy your strawberry at your desired ripeness. That's why we created it in many different colors. White, Chartreuse, Eraser Pink, Red, and Forest Moss. MmmMmmMmm
