The Stump Stool: it's a Stray Dog classic. This one stands out with it's playful Faux Bois pattern in relief. Handmade, stylish, sturdy and multifunctional, we think everyone could use one or two of these around the house.
But hold on a second... what is faux bois?! It means 'false wood' in French and is basically the artistic imitation of wood or wood grain. Hence the name, "stump stool."
In our Mexican workshop, this style is sometimes called "el trabajo rustico" aka "the rustic work." In the Mexican tradition, sometimes it has more realistic colors and details.
Instead of being realistic, our Stump Stool is straight out of a storybook. Wherever it goes, it fits right in; like a sort of whimsical camouflage. We've loved it in nurseries, we've adored it in bedrooms, and most of all, we've enjoyed seeing it come to life through the eyes of our favorite customers and designers.
