Hello, Stray Dogs!
We are in Mexico right now and are soaking up the magic of the workshop, the city, the food... oh my!
Whenever we are visit San Miguel, we are steeped in nostalgia as we're reminded of the beginning of the SDD story. At the very start of Jane and Billy's relationship, they headed down south.
Brimming with possibility and newfound love, they hit the streets to find a future for themselves. The started by importing Mexican pottery - scouring the back roads of Mexico for original items to sell back home.
The export business was a start, but they soon realized that Jane's talent for design, coupled with Bill's boundless energy was propelling them toward creating something uniquely their own. They explored several options until they discovered Guadalupe Alvarez's tin workshop.
Many years and many designs later, Stray Dog continues to thrive. AND we still have a buzzing tin workshop that has gifted us many favorite SDD pieces (like the Drum Pendant and Girly Lantern).
Another of our favorite tin pieces is the Lula Flush Mount. Lula's lovely blossom brings life to a room with the promise of an eternal spring. Also, just like every SDD piece, she is named after someone special (a very dear friend, Esme's, daughter).
